We are sending one student from the Rita Blanca Electric Cooperative service area to participate in the 2027 Government-in-Action Youth Tour!

Youth Tour has been a Texas Electric Cooperative tradition since 1965, when co-ops, inspired by then-Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, encouraged youths to visit Washington to see their American heritage and government in action, and to understand “what the flag stands for and represents.”

Now you have the opportunity to join the Youth Tour from June 15 to 23, 2027.

It’s simple: submit your application and essay on the topic of “What is the greatest energy issue facing your generation, and how can youths be part of the solution?” to youthtour@rbec.coop, no later than January 18, 2027 at 5:00 p.m.
